Relapse Prevention services is a vital part of one’s recovery. In order to recognize the warning signs of
potential relapse, it is necessary to identify internal and external risk
factors in client’s life and develop a healthy and sustainable plan for
managing these consistently and ongoing. Our focus is to reinforce preventing high risk behaviors, accountability, alternatives and positive decision making.to
prevent and delay the onset of high-risk behaviors.
Our
curriculum includes highly interactive group activities, small group
discussions, one-on-one sessions, and family Day component. The program is
separated into two phases, Phase 1 and Phase II each phase will be 12 weeks
long. We will meet for 1.5 hrs, up to 3 days per week on a weekly basis

The mission of Breakthrough Believers Supportive Independent Living program is to provide homeless women in transition with the fundamental skills required for basic daily living and decision making. Our Supportive Independent Living program is unique women live independently in a structured nurturing environment in which we focus on restoration, guidance, advocacy, referrals and support networking. We focus on transformation of lives rather than just housing. Many of the individuals who require
transitional housing have much greater needs than housing. They tend to
lack the fundamental skills required for basic daily living and decision
making (space
is limited to 6 women). Breakthrough Believers supportive independent living program objective is to provide a structured independent living atmosphere for women in transition who struggle with overcoming the lingering affects of
addiction which is an involved, long term process. Fees include: program and services, administrative cost, and living unit (length of stay up to 2 years).
Faith Based Support Groups are not a new idea John Wesley's "Rules for Small Groups", written in 1816 is an outline that embodies the Method from which the name Methodist came. Believers gathered together in small groups, sharing honestly, becoming accountable to one another, asking probing questions, praying for one another with a deep knowledge of their mutual needs and struggles. Benefits of participating in support groups. Ideally, a good support group is first, a place where recovering addicts will find true acceptance and a sense of what unconditional love is all about. It is a safe, non-judgmental setting where one can express struggles, thoughts, ideas, and feelings without fear of rejection.
We have a place set apart to achieve our mission in all aspects of operation to develop, preserve, and enhance the spiritual lives and moral conduct of individuals with co-occurring substance abuse disorders. Our new community based outreach substance abuse relapse prevention education and aftercare programs are designed for teaching, sharing, learning and experiencing of wholesome living free from addiction. Our outreach substance abuse relapse prevention programs strives to build each individual's confidence level by offering a learning environment and curriculum that is conducive to spiritual growth.
At the Center our purpose is to empower men and women to operate in their full potential so they can become competent and productive citizens.

Education Background:
I graduated from Baker Business College with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration on the Dean’s list, and attended at Muskegon Community College for two years completing the general education requirement for admission to GVSU-Grand Valley State University undergraduate degree program. I am a senior student status at Grand Valley State University, anticipate graduation 2010 with a Bachelors Degree. In addition, I will further my education at GVSU in the graduate program to receive a Master of Non-Profit/Public Administration (MPA) Degree. My education, background and personal experience displays a proven track record in academic success and personal achievement.
For more than 8 years in preparation, I have volunteered through various non profits, community organization, and alcohol/drug centers, as a group facilitator, sponsor, mentor, advocate, case manager, and coordinator responding to crisis. On a daily basis, I met with victims of crime, ex-offenders, men and women in the criminal justice system, drug and alcohol abusers, women of domestic violence, and troubled teens for sponsorship, referrals to community resources, mentor, and advocacy. Ranging in ages adults starting at the age of 17 and teens ages 13-16, as there is a gap in services in the counties for specialized advocacy, mentors, and sponsorship programs.
I have over 15 years in human delivery services, office and computer experience, working with non-profit organizations facilitating and/or setting up community outreach programs such as: licensed substance abuse prevention programs, food pantry program, clothing closet program to help individuals that struggle with barriers to become self sufficient. I have hands on experience by researching Federal, State, and Local grants, writing grants, proposals and responding to RFP at organizations such as: foundations, local/State/charitable funds and government entities. I have several success stories of grants that were awarded. My largest grant award written for a non-profit agency has been $60,000.00.
Furthermore, other traits, habits and abilities are that I have helped clients with building a resume, finding employment, linking them to area resources, and helping them find and fill out housing applications. I have seen two of my clients triumph over there struggles and go on to attend college, where I supported them through the application process as well as the orientation process. Many of my clients have gone on to secure jobs as well as housing. I have been able to assist my clients be empowered to lead a life where they no longer define themselves as victims, but view themselves as survivors. Every year, I have received follow-up from a number of clients to report on how well they are doing and feeling proud when they have accomplished goals that they never felt they would have been able to reach only months before. I have had clients who felt that they weren’t as successful as they would like, but I have been very encouraged when they felt comfortable enough to return for follow-up support.
It is evident from my background and personal experience of advocacy, mentor, sponsor and case management I have compassion for human welfare and the systems that support. And, my work experience has afforded me the opportunity to work well with a diverse group of people.
